Uglydoll, or UGLYDOLL is a brand by David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim. Originally it started out as adorable soft plush toys and has now expanded into all sorts of awesome merchandise! 

2. How did Uglydoll start?

It all started when David sent a letter to Sun-Min who was all the way in South Korea. At the bottom of the letter was a little doodle of Wage that said: “Working hard to make our dreams come true so we can be together soon.” And in return, Sun-Min sent him a handmade doll of Wage! Romantic, right??

Anywho, Mr Horvath showed the doll to the owner of Giant Robot, Eric Nakamura, who thought Horvath was pitching him a product and wanted to get some more Uglies for the shop. David wrote back to Sun-Min asking if she could sew a few more and there you have it!

3. Where can I get an Uglydoll?

Well, you can always find Uglydoll products on the official site. There’s also places like Giant Robot, Toys ‘R’ Us, Hot Topic or various toy stores.

4. How do I wash my Uglydoll?

With any plush doll, they should be washed carefully. Wash them on the gentle/delicate cycle with warm or cool water. If you have a spare pillow case, put the doll in it before hand to protect it while being thrown around. When drying the doll, you could either air dry or use the dryer. The dryer should be set on a low tumble. The doll might come out a bit more plump, but that’s normal.

5. Can you post more pictures of…?

Certainly! Love to keep the queue full! There’s also the List of Ugly in which I complied of all the Uglydolls made. Just click on the name of one of the Uglies (for example, Jeero) and it’ll take you to a page with all the pictures on the blog that are tagged with the individual Ugly!

Follow? No. This is a secondary blog so I can’t follow anyone on it even if I wanted to. And honestly I think it’s kinda stupid to be asking. :’D Promoing, I might do if your blog is related to Uglydoll or David Horvath and Sun-Min’s other work/brands.
